Yeah, not much of a blogger these days. The thing is, I now have actual *work* to do, which I find immensely satisfying and interesting. Plus, the couple times I’ve tried to upload something quick from work, there’s some weird thing in the Microsoft network that makes my entire post come up completely blank. At… Continue reading RIP Weblog?

What is this “Pod Cast” you speak of?
Yeah, so it’s not exactly news that I’m a bit behind the times when it comes to the new hotness in technology. I didn’t get a cell phone in the US until I was about a year out of college, even though they were standard issue by the time I was a senior. I held… Continue reading What is this “Pod Cast” you speak of?
Oh, the linguistic diversity!
Today I came across the word “blaugrana” in my linguistic travels. blaugrana adj inv Relatiu o pertanyent al Futbol Club Barcelona. blau_gra_na. What does it mean, you ask? “Related or pertaining to the Futbol Club of Barcelona”. There’s a fucking valid DICTIONARY for their equivalent of “Seahawkian”. I MISS SPAIN SOMETIMES.
Corporate Music Sellout City, Pop. 1 (me)
Yeah, it’s weird. In the past few months I’ve gone to more cool independent-like indie music shows than I have in ages, and yet lately I’m rocking out to corporate-sponsored rock on Pandora. But seriously, this one channel is so great – it’s for Scion, which is already INCREDIBLY clichéd and cheesy since I frickin’… Continue reading Corporate Music Sellout City, Pop. 1 (me)
Smurftymology
Man, so working with data sets that are as massive as the ones I now deal with, you can’t help but occasionally actually read something in them instead of just analyzing them for their given purpose. Like the other day, in a block of randomly compiled sentences, I came across one that translated to “because… Continue reading Smurftymology
Micro-tastic
Yep, it’s awesome. I have a Catalan flag displayed proudly in my office. The work itself is interesting, even the semi-boring administrative-type stuff, because it all has to do with CATALAN at the end of the day. I also get to speak a zillion languages with my surrounding coworkers, also a blast. And I learn… Continue reading Micro-tastic
i Fabra
I’m so very, very excited to start my new job on Monday. (For those of you imaginary readers who weren’t aware – today is my last day at Devir; Monday I start as a contractor at Microsoft.) Not only am I thrilled to be doing something I’m fascinated by, but I’m also excited for some… Continue reading i Fabra
Bart Simpson’s shoe
I have this great new coworker Katy, she’s a lot of fun. Turns out we have similar taste in clothes, music, etc. and she really brings a fun energy to the office, all my coworkers and I think she’s just a ton of fun and we all get along with her well. So today a… Continue reading Bart Simpson’s shoe
I’ve Been Plugged!
Better than being Flickr’d, for sure. But Matthew Baldwin of defective yeti, one of the funniest damn blogs out there (and a local one to boot!), is doing a random “Plugapalooza” thing where he tells readers to pick a number between one and 100 and well, I’m not that clear as to the math and… Continue reading I’ve Been Plugged!
Touchdown Colts!!!!
The Colts are going to the SuperBowl! The Colts are going to the SuperBowl! One exclamation point in the title for each touchdown they scored against the Patriots. It’s funny, I’ve always *wanted* to give a damn about the SuperBowl, because it seems like a fun thing to get all riled up and rowdy about,… Continue reading Touchdown Colts!!!!
